Registration
For the security and safety of all attendees, all registered attendees must to be over 18.
Although use of masks is recommended in highly populated areas, the wearing of masks is no longer mandated at FurDU. Please ensure to be mindful of your own physical health and ensure not to attend if you are showing symptoms of illness. We reserve the right to direct attendees out of the convention spaces should they be identified as unwell.
No. We are unfortunately unable to assist with facilitating minors in any way. Attempts to register will be declined, and ghosting the con whilst under age may result in being permanently banned even when you come of age.
Limited day passes will be available to purchase on the day of the convention, unless we have sold out to capacity, or we disclaim that we cannot provide day passes. Save yourself a bit of cash to spend at the dealers den, and get your rego in early!
No, sorry but day passes must be purchased individually, and are only valid for that specific day of the con.
Day passes are $65 (plus any applicable fees from our ticketing system)
Upon creating an account and paying, you will receive emails detailing your account, your receipt, and your ticket/s.
Registrations are refundable up to 2 months from the convention date, subject to the deduction of a $50 service and processing fee for Super and Ultra Sponsor tiers and $10 For Sponsor and Standard Tiers.
Send us an email at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to make it as easy as possible. Regos/tickets that aren’t transferred to you, or are made invalidated, are not verifiable.
Send us an email at [email protected] if you have any problems with registering, or additional questions regarding registration.
As much as we’d love to see more people at the con, the answer is no. We do not do multiple ticket releases, but you’re welcome to register on our registration waitlist in case a ticket becomes available.
As a courtesy to all involved it’s best If both parties agree to the cancellation, ultimately the original purchaser reserves the right to cancel either registration.
It might be better to consider transferring it to their name. We’ll be happy to assist with either, send us an email at [email protected]
Either come and see one of our awesome team at con-ops, or follow the directions on the printed signs in the hotel lobby.
Any add-ons you may have purchased (Unlimited travel card, patch etc. will be made available for collection when you pick up your registration package from con ops.
While FurDu isn’t currently a member of any associated disability support schemes we are more than happy to help provided certain conditions can be met.
- The paid ticket holder must hold a valid and current companion card
- The support person you intend to bring along must be part of a registered organisation and authorised to work as a support person / carer
- The support person / carer’s ticket will only be valid in the presence of the paid ticket holder
As previously stated we are not a member of any current companion schemes within Australia but instead offer support / carer tickets to eligible people as a courtesy to those who may suffer from any form of disability, as such each application shall be decided on a case by case basis via committee
Sure thing, feel free to head over to the hotel and give us a wave, or join in with the fursuit walk on Saturday morning. However, without a rego or day pass, we can’t let you into conspace.
Transport passes provide you with unlimited travel on Translink/G:Link services in South East Queensland, excluding AirTrain. These are valid for whichever number of days you choose.
NFC badges enable your convention badge for NFC, and give you an easy way to share your Linktree/Socials with people you meet on the go. Simply have someone tap their phone to your badge encoded with the relevant link and it’ll open right up!
Patches are an outstanding iron-on patch featuring this year’s themed FurDU logo.
Absolutely! Simply go to My Account in the ticketing system and select “Book Addons”
Absolutely not!
We call this “ghosting”, and it’s grounds for being banned from FurDu. If we find anyone ghosting the con, then they will be removed along with the actual owner of the registration. In short, don’t even try it, we will find out.
Waitlist
No. If you have joined the waitlist, then you will be notified if you were successful. It is important to make sure that you have funds available via your nominated payment option at all times, since the system will automatically attempt to take payment. If the payment fails, then it will skip on to the next name on the list – sorry, no second chances.
No, nothing has been debited from your account, and won’t be unless you successfully got a rego.
As people cancel their registration or have it refunded, then it is automatically allocated to the next person on the list. If you haven’t received an email with attached registration details, then you haven’t been successful just yet. Keep your fingers crossed, and an eye on your inbox.
Under extenuating circumstances this may be possible, but we can’t promise anything. Please contact us at [email protected] to discuss the matter.
No.
If/when a registration becomes available, you will be notified via email that you have been successful. The system will automatically attempt to take payment via your nominated payment method at this time. To ensure that you don’t miss out on your chance, it is important that you have the necessary funds available. If funds are not available when payment is requested, then the system will move on to the next person on the list.

No. It is your responsibility to make sure you have your ID valid and in your possession well in advance of FurDU. If you need to acquire photographic government-issued ID before attending FurDU, and you are Australian, we strongly suggest getting a Proof-of-Age card from the state or territory you live in as soon as possible. Fees range from $7 (ACT) to $77.40 (QLD), but many states and territories offer discounts or will let you apply for one for free if you are receiving certain types of Centrelink benefits. Go to your respective state/territory government’s website and search for “proof of age card”.
Queensland residents only: If you have paid for a new licence/ID but are still waiting for it in the mail, you must bring your old ID that you are replacing and the full Renewal Receipt issued by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (with proof of payment attached). If you have only the receipt and no old ID, you will not be given your conbadge, and cannot attend. Outside of the convention, you may experience some difficulties in other parts of the Gold Coast if you wish to visit 18+ areas.
Registration staff and volunteers will check your ID is valid before giving you your conbadge and selling you your pass, if you have not already bought one. Suiters, you will be asked to remove your fursuit heads when presenting your ID at registration, so please make it easy for yourself to do so. If you do not have your ID with you when you come to register, you will be asked to leave convention space immediately, obtain your ID before re-entering, and go to the back of any queues present.
If your ID is still valid when you obtain your full-weekend conbadge, you may still attend the convention. If you need to buy day passes, we will only accept your ID and sell you a day-pass for the day(s) it is still valid. Outside of the convention, you may experience some difficulties in other parts of the Gold Coast if you wish to visit 18+ areas.
If you turn 18 on the first day of FurDU, Happy Birthday! Your rego this year is on us, just bring proof to show us. If you turn 18 on the 2nd or 3rd day of the Con, you may only attend the days you are legally 18 years-of-age or older. If this is you, we suggest buying day-passes on the Saturday and/or Sunday, depending on your situation. Make sure you have your valid ID before you come to the convention!
If you have lost your ID while you are on your way to FurDU, then contact [email protected] ASAP.
Get in touch with con-ops immediately if you are within conspace, or contact [email protected] ASAP. Badge replacements will be charged at day pass prices, if you find your badge this will be refunded when you turn in the extra badge.
E-Mail us at [email protected] as soon as possible and we will work this out with you.
No, we will ask that you please use your New Zealand passport instead.
If the alternative is in the list of valid forms of ID above, yes you can; otherwise, we strongly suggest getting a passport pouch or traveller’s belt and keeping your ID there.
E-Mail us at [email protected] as soon as possible and we will work this out with you.
Yes, minus the cost of transaction fees. Please e-mail [email protected] and let us know. If you wish to cancel your hotel room booking as well, then please contact the Crowne Plaza directly as FurDU cannot organise this on your behalf.
To buy alcohol at any of the bars or restaurants in the Crowne Plaza, you will need to use the valid forms of ID in the “What forms of ID do you accept?” answer above.
Hotel & Booking
When you check in, the hotel will put a freeze on $100 as a security deposit. If your room hasn’t been damaged or left in a state of mess, this money will be returned to you approximately a week after FurDU. Note: You cannot use cash for a security deposit.
Crowne Plaza requires no initial payment upfront, but requires full payment to be made 7 days before arrival. An initial deposit (to the value of one night’s accommodation) will be deducted from your provided payment method 30 days from your check in date. The remaining balance of your stay will be debited 7 days prior to check in. If this payment is declined, Crowne Plaza have advised FurDU that the reservation will be cancelled.
Absolutely! Crowne Plaza are happy to accept early upfront payments if you contact [email protected] with your room reservation information. You will be sent a link to a payment gateway where you can provide your card details and pre-pay for your stay.
Call/email the hotel to cancel your booking. Bear in mind that if you cancel your booking within 30 days of checking in, the hotel will charge one nights’ accommodation to your card on file as a cancellation fee.
Not at all! Whilst staying at the hotel can enhance your convention experience, it is not required to attend. This can be extremely useful for local furs attending on a tight budget or people who want to sort out their own accommodation needs. Please keep in mind that for everyone’s safety, the Crowne Plaza will only allow re-entry to the hotel (and thus convention space) to the general public up until 10:30pm.
The hotel has on-site parking, that is complimentary with your booking on days FurDU takes place (Friday/Saturday/Sunday). If you plan to stay longer, parking is charged at $18.00 per night outside of convention days.
Both the con staff and hotel space do not have secure facilities to store belongings, please do not leave them in the con-space or headless lounges. We take no responsibility for your belongings if they are lost or stolen.
For FurDU 2025, Room rates are $250 per night inclusive of two breakfasts. Additional adults can be booked for $25 per person per night, inclusive of breakfast. Rollaway beds are available at a rate of $65 per night should you require them.
Please email [email protected] with your full name, reservation number, and your friend’s full name and reservation number. If you let us know you’d like this to happen, the hotel will do their best to accommodate. Not all requests can be accommodated, but everyone will do their best for you.
Crowne Plaza operates a strictly implemented NO PARTY POLICY AT ALL TIMES, as is the case throughout the Gold Coast.
Our hotel places a high level of importance on the safety and comfort of all guests. Noise is to be kept to a reasonable level, and only hotel guests may occupy rooms after 10pm. Failure to adhere to the no party policy may lead to eviction. All guests on registering at check-in agree to abide by the hotel house rules (Copy of house rules available upon request).
The hotel does not allow fixed signage on the door. All room signs and artwork are not permitted, and will be removed. However, they do allow door hangers, these are to be similar size and length to the current do not disturb hotel door hangers.
Free hotel WiFi is accessible in the lobby and all rooms (accommodation and events rooms) in the building. Please speak with reception when you check in for access details.

The Con, Volunteering & Everything Else
Our dress standards can be found on our conditions of entry page.
Contact us! We are eternally grateful for the generosity the community shows every year.
We love our DJs and can’t wait to dance to your music! Unfortunately, DJ applications have now closed for FurDU 2025 and our acts have been chosen. Please keep an eye on our socials for next time we open.
Thank you for your willingness to jump on the DU Crew! Each year, we put an expressions of interest form for new volunteers. We’ll broadcast this on social media when the 2025 form goes live!
Furries are a pretty friendly bunch, especially come convention time!
Try introducing yourself during one of the participatory events. Make sure to go to the First Con panel. We have a telegram group that gets pretty active around convention time, so come and say hello if you’re new and would like to introduce yourself. With a little effort, you’ll find yourself making new fuzzy friends in no time!
It’s generally not recommended to go fursuiting by yourself. Best practice is to have a handler there for the sake of explaining things to the public, who can find the spectacle confusing and might react strangely, Groups are even better.
Please be mindful that nightfall (especially on weekends) in Surfers Paradise can bring various different people out. We’d recommend strongly against wearing fursuits or your convention tags in busy areas, as these may draw unwanted attention.
If you do not want to be filmed/photographed please make an effort to inform those with a camera. If something is being filmed or a group photo is being taken use common sense and move out of shot. If you feel like you have been photographed, politely ask the individual to remove the photo of you. If you have any additional trouble, please contact con-staff.
The safety of our patrons is a primary concern to us and we will do all we can to ensure everyone attending the convention is comfortable.
Threats are a serious matter and although we are limited in what we can do, we will refer you onto the proper authorities. We will not ban someone simply because you dont like them. While we understand that you may have been in an abusive relationship with that person, it is not grounds for a ban. If you attend the con with the specific intention of causing trouble for that person at the convention up to and including calling the police, you will be removed from our event and may face a ban. Slandering the convention on social media may also be grounds for a ban. Conventions do not enforce AVOs or DVOs. If you have one on someone it is up to you to inform them of it. We will also not release the names of people who are registered to attend.
FurDU is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable convention experience for everyone. Harassment of any kind, including physical assault, deliberate intimidation, stalking, verbal or sexual abuse of any kind, or unwelcome attention, will NOT be tolerated. If people tell you “no” or to leave them alone, your business with them is done. No means NO! Defences like “I thought they were only joking” will not be tolerated! We take this issue seriously, if someone won’t take no for an answer, come and see us at Con-Ops.
FurDU prefers not to take donations, and instead offers the sponsor upgrade option as a way for the community to help support us, while receiving something in return. We’re always keen on volunteers though!
